We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. Unfortunately there are some post production problems. If you're using photoshop to desaturare your photos, dont simply use grayscale or desaturate, use the channel mixer in monochrome mode and you can control the contrast between red, green, and blue which gives it a more natural look.
Also with this technique you'll find you wont have to use the contrast or brightness sliders as much and that will help tame or prevent the washed out highlights you see on the model's shoulders.
